Miss Lillie Barnhart, 66, formerly of Palestine, died in Houston Sunday (Dec 26, 1948) at 11 a.m. after a long illness.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Bailey Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Potts officiating. Burial will be in Broyles Chapel Cemetery.

Miss Barnhart is survived by one brother, Charles Barnhart of Palestine; several nieces and nephews including Mrs. R.H. Donaldson, Mrs. Homer A---, and Clyde Barnhart, Palestine. Mrs. A.D. B---, Dan, Jack, Howard, and Guy Barnhart, Houston. ----(unable to read remainder of obit)

Miss Lillie Pearl Barnhart of 1510 Emanuel St., Houston, Texas, died at St. Joseph Hospital on Dec. 26, 1948 at age 65 years, 2 months, and 26 days . She was born in Palestine, Texas on Oct.- 1883; no record of her parents names. She had been a resident of Houston for 20 years and was a self employed rooming house operator.

She was the daughter of Henry Barnhart and Lucetta "Lucy" Bixler Barnhart, both born in PA.
She is buried beside her brother, Joseph William Barnhart and his wife, Mary Ella Barnhart.

Lillie and John Oscar Hazlitt were married in Palestine on July 14, 1900. They had one daughter who died in 1904. They divorced in 1911.

Note: there is a discrepency in birth dates on the various records and the tombstone. On the 1880 Anderson County Census, Lillie was listed as 2 years old.
