Whitney was born on Feb. 23, 1988, in Havre to Daryl and Patti (Matter) Schwan. She was raised and educated in Havre and attended Havre High School. While in high school, Whitney participated on the swim team and in choir. She was looking forward to the upcoming sports season, because she was going to be a member of the Havre High School cheerleading squad.

Whitney enjoyed being with her friends, listening to music, being outdoors and playing girls fast pitch softball. She also enjoyed movies, dancing, buying clothes and talking on the phone.

Whitney was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church, the Havre Youth Ministry of St. Jude, and had attended the Catholic Heart Work Camp.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Anton and Leona Schwan; maternal grandparents, Edward and Alta Matter; uncles, Andrew and Terry Schwan and Robert Partridge; and cousins, Carly Matter and Ryder Howie.

Survivors include her parents, Daryl and Patti Schwan of Havre; sisters, Renelle Schwan and Brooke Schwan, both of Havre; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Whitney lost her life in a tragic auto accident. May she rest in eternal peace.
