Mr. Donald H. Brammer, 73, of Chesapeake, Ohio, died Saturday, May 30, 1998 at Gallipolis, Ohio. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 2, 1998 at Grace Gospel Church by Pastor Keith Wiebe. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point, Ohio. Don was born August 15, 1924 in Burlington, Ohio, son of the late Herman and Mabel Beard Brammer. He was a graduate of South Point High School, Class of 1942. He received his B.S. and Masters Degree from Marshall University. He began his teaching career in 1948 at South Point High School, later becoming Principal and Superintendent of Schools. At his retirement, he was Lawrence County Supervisor of Education. He was a real estate salesman and appraiser in Lawrence County. He was an Army vetreran of WWII where he received a Purple Heart and was a prisoner of war. He was an active and faithful 39 year member of Grace Gospel Church. He served on the Board of Grace Christian School. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Selia Marshall Brammer; three daughters, Connie Pennington and her husband Dwight of Dallas, Georgia, Minda Corn and her husband Steve of Charlotte, N.C. and Missy Bowman and her husband Dan of Gallipolis, Ohio; six grandchildren, Kendra Christensen, Kristie Summers, Erin Bowman, and Brett Bowman; two brothers and their spouses, Jim and Maxine Brammer of Ashland, Ky, and Dana and Jean Brammer of Oxford, Miss.; one sister-in-law, Margaret Curtis of Chesapeake, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Donald Gregory Brammer in 1997. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Beard Mortuary. The remains will be taken to the Church one hour before services.
