Annis was the daughter of Joseph E. and Estella (Hamm) Burwell. She married Andrew Jackson 'Jack' Bean in 1921 and they had three children: Helen Grace, Norma Montana and Beverly Gale.

Funeral services for Annis Melinda Bean, 95, were held at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer Saturday, December 19, 1999 at 1:00 p.m. with Father Bob Perry officiating.
Annis passed away December 12, 1999 at the Idaho Falls Care Center.
She was born May 5, 1904 in Laird, Colorado, the sixth of nine children to Joseph E. and Estella Hamm Burwell. The family moved to Roberts, Idaho for a few years and then moved to Dillon, Montana. Her school years were spent in the Centennial Valley where she stayed with relatives and worked for room and board. She married Andrew J. ‘Jack' Bean February 22, 1921 in Idaho Falls and they stayed in the Centennial Valley for a number of years. They then moved to Monida for six years and then moved to Dillon before moving to Salmon in 1938.
Annis had a ladies dress shop for four years and worked at Valley Chevrolet Company during the war years. After their purchase of the school buses in 1946, Annis drove a bus for 22 years. Many ‘kids' will remember the tiny lady in the big yellow bus. She loved her family, kids, dogs, horses and a good Pinochle and Yahtze game. Most of all Annis loved to travel, with Jackpot being one of her favorite spots.
There were a multitude of changes in the world during the span of her lifetime. She took all of them in stride and enjoyed life.
She is survived by three daughters, Helen Smith, Mrs. Ross (Norma) Perry and Beverly Baker, all of Salmon; 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, her parents and all her sisters and brothers.
‘Mother' and ‘Spring in the Rockies' were sung by Viki Harber accompanied by Karen Davis who also played the prelude and postlude music. Jim Smith read a life sketch and Linda Keenan was a speaker.
Pallbearers were her grandsons, Jim Smith, Jerry Smith, Arjay Smith, Blaine Gott, Steve Gott, John Gott, Don Perry and Richard Perry.
Family suggests those who wish donate to the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer or their favorite charity.
Vault interment took place in the Salmon Cemetery under the direction of the Jones & Casey Funeral Home.
