Gail Roberta Kanvick Allen
Three days after her 49th birthday, Gail died at her home in Billings, on October 28, 2002. Gail had only recently been diagnoised with a brain tumor.
Born Oct. 25, 1953, in Billings, Gail was the daughter of Jack and Neola (Bean) Kanvick, sharing the same birthday with her twin brother, Butch. She graduated from West High School.
For a period of time, Gail worked in Denver at Mercy Hospital, but most of her life was spent in Billings. Gail ran a daycare in her home for many years. She worked as a telephone operator for At&T and was a dedicated 911 dispatcher for the city of Billings, a job she truly loved.
In her union with Sherman Allen, they had three children. Gail's greatest joy is her six grandchildren; secondly, she loved ballet and shared that love with her daughters.
She adored pets and volunteered for Help for Homeless Pets. She enjoyed car racing and the Mustangs' baseball games.
She leaves behind her mother, Neola Kanvick of Billings; her children, son Darrell and Wendy Allen of Livingston, and daughters Jennifer and Cheryl Allen of Billings; six grandchildren, Olando, Jade, Jasmine, Christy, Tyra and Lauren; and two dogs and two cats; sisters, Linda Balfany and her husband Alden of Salisbury, Md., Carol Sharp of Eureka, Calif., Jackie Faller and her husband, Ken from Ohio; brothers, twin brother, Butch Kanvick, and Gary Kanvick and his wife, Cindi, all of Billings; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Kanvick; infant daughter, Victoria Rae; and two nephews.
She will be dearly missed, especially by her grandchildren, family and anyone her life touched. We love you Mother.
