OAKDALE. La. Mrs. Nora Derr Swearingin, 82, died at 9 a.m. Thursday in an Alexandria hospital. She was a member of the Eastern Star, the Rebekah Lodge and had lived in Oakdale 58 years. She was the widow of Austin Swearingin, a former deputy sheriff in Allen parish. She is survived by one son, Wills Swearingin of Port Arthur, Tex.; one brother, Otis Derr of Many; two sisters, Mrs. Floyd Lewin of Many and Mrs. Donie Berry of Starks; two grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Ardoin Funeral Home here with Rev. C. Bullard Jones officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale cemetery.
