John W. Budd, one of the prominent settlers of Chelan County passed away quietly at his home in Chelan Friday evening, at the age of 76 years, after an illness lasting about 4 months.
The funeral services were held Sunday.
Mr. Budd was a native of the state of Arkansas, was born Feb. 4, 1851. In young manhood he moved to Kansas where he met Miss Clara Whittington to whom he was married on Oct. 6, 1873. This union was blessed with four children, all of whom survive.
Besides his widow, there survive a son, J. E. Budd of Canton, Ill., three daughters, Mrs. Ed. Larrabee, Mrs. Charles E. Clark and Miss Frances Budd all of this city; 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
