Elaine Beatty was born April 11, 1916 to Roy and Beulah (Clark) Beatty in Seneca, Nebraska. By June of 1917, the family was living in Faulkton, South Dakota. When Elaine was 4, the Beatty family lived at 103 Second Street in Detroit, Michigan. Beulah's parents, Clayton and Sadie (Graves) Clark lived very near, at 102 Second Street. Before Elaine was 5, the Beatty family moved to Casper, Wyoming, where they lived at 304 South Washington Street.

When Elaine was 5, a brother, Curtis Beatty was born to the family. At the age of 8, Elaine attended the Elk Creek Grammer School, and gained another brother, Jack Beatty. Eight months after Jack was born, the Beatty family lost their only daughter to a brain fissure. Elaine died at the age of 8 years, 7 months, 24 days.

Funeral services were held December 6,1924 at the Shaffer-Gay funeral chapel, the Rev. A. E. Cook officiating. Internment was at the Highland Cemetery in Casper. (Shaffer-Gay Chapel has been renamed Newcomer Chapel)
