Jessica was born in California to Edward H & Mary Caner Little - both born in Illinois about 1867. At the time of the 1900 census, Jessica was living with her parents and younger brother Josiah in Los Angeles where her father was a silver miner.

She married Ashley Clayton Dixon, son of Labon Dixon & Ella Belmont Fitch on 2/9/1907 in Chicago, Illinois. Jessica & Ashley had a son, Ashley Jr. born in Illinois about 1908. At the time of the 1910 census Jessica and Ashley were living in Chicago with Ashley's father and Jessica's brother (an office clerk). At that time Ashley was a grain broker with the Chicago Board of Trade.

Then the family moved to Lone Rock, Montana where Ashley Sr. was a farmer and radio broadcaster. By 1923, the family had moved to Portland, Oregon, and Jr. and Sr. were radio broadcasting together. Ashley owned KFJR and played classical music. On 7/22/1928 son Ashley, Jr. died from an accidental gunshot from a revolver he was cleaning at his parents' home. In a newspaper article Jessica was said to be in California at the time and unable to attend the funeral. It is suspected she may have been institutionalized in California or Oregon at that time.

On 10/14/1929 Ashley filed for divorce against Jessica and it was granted on 11/21/1929.

At the time of the 1930 census Jessica was listed as a patient at the Oregon State Hospital, a residential facility in Salem, Oregon for the treatment of people with mental illness.

Ashley remarried, to Agnes Cover in the early 1930s. Jessica was preceded in death by a brother, Josiah Little, who died in 1955. Ashley, Sr. died 12/30/1962. Jessica died of heart disease at the state institution on 4/12/1963.
