Delmer Wayne Baker

To everything there is a season…

A time to be born…Delmer Wayne Baker was born in Yakima, WA on January 26, 1946 to Ershal and Margaret (Chesnut) Baker. He had two brothers and two sisters.

A time to die…A call was made Saturday, April 6, 2013 and Delmer answered and said, "Here I Am Lord." He went to be with the Lord and to occupy his new home in heaven.
A time to love…Delmer married Evelyn Moreno on October 16, 1965. He held her close to his heart, as they walked throughout life together for 47 years. They had two wonderful children, Nancy and Joe.

A time to laugh…As an avid sports fan, he attended sports events where his children and grandchildren were participating. Delmer had many other enjoyments in his life including golfing, fishing, building things out of wood, spending time with family and friends and playing cards and games. He served in the US Army where he learned photography skills. He served as a Boy Scout leader and a baseball coach.

A time to mourn…Memories of Delmer will forever be in the hearts of his loving wife, Evelyn of Yakima; daughter Nancy & Gene Ashman and Joe & Becky Baker, all of Yakima, WA; four grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, a sister, Lila Gangle of Union Gap, WA and a brother Bob Baker of Allyn, WA; also many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother Jeffrey and a sister Donna Wright.

Memorial Services will be held Friday, April 12, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. at Brookside Funeral Home & Crematory, 500 W. Prospect, Moxee. A reception will follow the services at the Brookside Reception Center.

A very special thank you to the First Responders at our home and the staff in the Emergency Room of Yakima Regional Medical Center.
