John Durrwood Barlow, 83, died Thursday, April 16, 2009, at Pine Crest Guest Home in Hazlehurst.

Visitation will be 4 p.m.-8 p.m. today at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2009, at Pearl Valley Baptist Church with burial at Galilee Cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Services in Hazlehurst is handling arrangements.

Mr. Barlow was a native of Copiah County. He had lived in Turlock, California for 20 years and moved back to Copiah County. He and his wife of 61 years taught school in California and in Copiah County. He served in the U. S. Coast Guard and was a member of Pearl Valley Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Cagle Barlow; daughters, Sharon Hablinski of Wesson and Martha Enlow of Rose Hill, Kansas; brother, David Barlow of Wesson; sister, Mavis Fox of Byram; and three grandchildren.
