Husband of Joanne (Zambanini) Donohue

He was appointed to the Wilmington Fire Department on May 1, 1958 and served faithfully for 28 years.

During his career, Jerry rose through the ranks and was named chief of the Wilmington Fire Department, a position he held from 1978 until his retirement in 1986.

Upon completing his service with the fire department, Jerry was employed by Cokesbury Village as director of security.

Later, he was appointed to the Industrial Accident Board of the State of Delaware.

A member of St. Elizabeth parish, Jerry was also a life member of the Cranston Heights Volunteer Fire Company.

He enjoyed coaching CYO softball and assisted in the development of the Padua Academy softball program.

He also coached softball for the Women's Open League for many years.

Jerry's greatest pleasure in life was spending time with his family.

He was an avid thoroughbred racing fan and enjoyed vacationing in Wildwood, NJ and Las Vegas, NV.
