"Fountain L. Meece, 91-year-old Pulaski County farmer, died at his home at Alcalde Saturday after an illness of several years.

One of this county's oldest and most venerated citizens, Mr. Meece was a lifetime resident of this section. He was born Jan. 22, 1862 the son of Richard and Jane Vaught Meece. He joined the Enterprise Baptist Church many years ago and was faithful in his duties and attendance to the church. He outlived many of the friends of his younger days, but his warm nature and keen wisdom won him many new ones.

Mr. Meece is survived by his wife and one son. Funeral services were held Monday at the Enterprise Baptist Church. The Rev. Bert Whitaker and the Rev. H.D. Smallwood conducted the services. Burial was in the Brown Cemetery."
