The following Biography By CL Hileman, lineal descendant:
Richard Barrier, son of Abraham Aaron and Elizabeth Reynolds Barrier of Stuttgart, Wurttemberg, Germany, born in Rowan, Cabarrus Co., North Carolina [see attached document ] This family was found in Spartanburg, South Carolina when his father purchased land in 1791.

In 1804, Richard became the first pastor of Big Sinking Baptist Church, Monticello, Wayne Co.; July 1810, along with Isham Burnett and "Raccoon" John Smith, founded Bethel United Baptist Church, Parmleysville, Wayne Co., Kentucky; In 1840, with the help of Henry Tuggle and Isham Burnett, founded Big Spring Church at Burfield; 1841, again with Henry Tuggle, founded Pleasant Hill Baptist Church; others include Sunnybrook, Mt. Pisgah, and others throughout this area of Kentucky.

Husband of Catherine Massey Barrier, married 20 August 1789, they had at least seven children; Henrietta Barrier Meece 1790-1878, Elizabeth Barrier Chrisman 1791-1867, Rachel Barrier Hurt 1793-1817, Aaron 1798-1867 (m. Susannah Chrisman), Catharine Barrier Baker 1802-1890, George Wesley 1808-1880 (m. Frances Buster), and Jane Barrier Burnett 1810-1870.

Purchasing several hundred acres, Reverend Richard and Catherine built their home on the banks of the South Fork of the Cumberland River, Wayne County, Kentucky, raising their family and farming the fertile bottom land of the Fork. The ministry was his life's work and he remained active until his death at the age of 86.

The cemetery is located off of Rt. 92, south of Monticello, in the Daniel Boone National Forest, near the old Concord Church. There are 45 identified and 59 unidentified graves of the Anderson, Baker, Barrier, Corder, Jones families,one Civil War burial, William Kidd, Company D, 30th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry, and several newer burials of related Kidd family. The stones and field have not been plowed under as stated on an Ancestry post. The graves are in tact and some have had new markers placed on them.
