William O. Lynch, III died peacefully on his 70th birthday, Saturday, May 20, 2006. He was a loving, caring and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts. Bill retired in 1997 as a Research Tech with the DuPont Co./Chestnut Run after 42 years of service. He faithfully served his state and country for 24 years as Staff Sergeant with the Delaware Army National Guard. Bill loved, coached, and supported the New Castle Little League for many years during the 1970's. He enjoyed fishing, and coin collecting. He was an avid trumpet player and liked flowers and gardening. Bill was the son of the late William O. Lynch, II and Mildred (Smith) Lynch. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Dorothy A. DeAscanis Lynch; his sons, Michael P. Lynch and his wife, Debbie of New Castle, William O. Lynch IV and his wife Jennifer of Bear; his daughters, Guida M. Lucey and her husband John of Middletown, Mary Beth Wright and her husband Keith of Pike Creek; his sister, Barbara Kaminsky and her husband David of Rehoboth; his beloved grandchildren, Nicholas, William V, Michael, John, Alexis, Cory, Ryan, Patrick, Emily, and Meghan. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter R. C. Church, 5th & Harmony Sts., New Castle on Thurs. May 25th at 12 noon. Friends may call at the church on Thurs. morning from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon. Interment in the adjoining cemetery.
