Tony went to be with his heavenly Father on Sat., Oct. 28, 2006. He passed away from complications of a lung transplant.

Born and raised in New Castle, DE, Tony was a 1986 graduate of Salesianum School and a 1990 graduate of the University of Delaware. His lifelong ambition was to be a Delaware State Trooper. This dream was fulfilled in 1993 when he was hired as a Trooper. He attained the rank of Corporal/2 with the Delaware State Police Troop, working at Troop #3 in Camden, where he served with their Canine Unit and the Governors Task Force. As a patriotic American he was also a member of the Delaware Air National Guard.

Tony was an active member of St. Joseph's Parish in Middletown, DE. He enjoyed scuba diving, flying Cessna airplanes and staying fit. His greatest joy was raising his sons and enjoying time with his family and friends. Tony's legacy was his commitment as a family man and devoted friend. Tony will be dearly and lovingly missed by his wife of 12 years, Angela (Bennett) DiAlessandro, and his two sons, Mario and Angelo, who were the pride of his life; his parents, Barbara and Marcello DiAlessandro; his grandmother, Francesca DiAlessandro; his brother, Michael; his sisters and their husbands, Angela McVey, and Tony, Lisa Ioannoni, and Mike; and his sister, Roseann, all of New Castle. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter R. C. Church, 5th & Harmony Sts., New Castle. Entombment will be in the Crypt of the Ascension at Cathedral Cemetery.
