Officer Michael King was hired by APD on March 8, 1982, he later retired on December 27, 2002- and was rehired on May 14, 2004. Officer King's father retired from APD on December 8, 1983.
Both officers served more than twenty years of service each. They both retired, then came back to APD in a re-hire program.
