Cecile Deason Cox, age 87, of Tuscaloosa, died March 10, 2006 at Forest Manor Nursing Home.

Her husband, George Elliott Cox, parents, Wiley Ezra and Mary Sovella Elam Deason, brothers, John Deason, J.C. Deason, Bryan Deason and Carl Deason, and sisters, Clara Deason Smith and Elvin Deason Morris, preceded her in death.

Cecile Deason Cox was born in Bibb County, Alabama on May 20, 1918. She was fortunate to have been raised in a Christian home by parents who enjoyed Christian Harmony singing. She and her husband, George Elliott Cox, were supporters of Christian Harmony and Sacred Harp Music and traveled throughout the Southeast to singings. She was a charter member of South Highlands Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years.
