Alvis McGlon Clark, 82, of Chattanooga, TN, died on August 29, 1913.

Mr. Clark was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church of Red Bank, TN for over 29 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Mary Clark of Fort Payne, AL and brother, Pariel Clark of Birmingham, AL.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Talma D. Clark, sister Evelyn O. Everett of Chattanooga, TN; brother, Kenneth E. Clark and wife Jean of Mentone, AL; three sons, Perry D. Clark and wife Trenia of Athens, AL; Eric L. Clark of Rossville, GA; Lance B. Clark and wife Tara, of Cleveland, TN; two daughters, Sonya L. O'Neal and husband, Steve of Ringgold, GA, and Nylas U. Owens of Ringgold, GA; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Clark was a renowned pianist. He served as the pianist for: High Point Baptist Church, Apison, TN; Cromwell Baptist Church, Chattanooga, TN; Elizabeth Terrace Baptist Church, Rosssville, GA; Riverside Baptist Church, Lookout Valley, TN. He played for various quartets and special groups since the age of 17.

Mr. Clark served four years in the U. S. Army as PFC during the Korean War.

He retired after 30 years from Combustion Engineering and continued working at Chattanooga Box Company for 17 more years.

The family will receive visitors on Saturday, August 31, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. and Tuesday, September 3, 2013 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Home in Hixson, TN.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Valley Head Cemetery, Valley Head, AL with Jared Clark, Hunter Clark, Patrick, Micah, Kelly and Steve O'Neal serving as pallbearers. Pastor Dwight Martin and Dr. Charles Walker will be officiating.
