Bradley K. Clark, 52, of Estero, FL, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2009 at the Emory Crawford Hospital in Atlanta, GA, after a valiant two and a half year battle with cancer.
Brad was born October 20, 1956 in Marion, OH, a son of Robert K. Clark and the late Martha (nee Lemke) Clark. He was a graduate of Pleasant High School in Marion, OH, and received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1980 from Bowling Green State University having graduated, Cum Laude and Phi Kappa academic and leadership honorary. Brad continued his education at Ohio State University and in 1982 received his Master of Arts degree.
He moved to Florida in 1985 and worked for Prudential Insurance and Financial Services in Pembroke Pines as their Sales Manager, District Manager and Account Executive. In 1995, he moved to Estero, FL and worked for the McDonald Financial Group. In 2006 they merged with UBS Financial Service where Brad was a Senior Vice President - Investments. He was a former member of the Davie Rotary Club serving as President in 1993. He was a member of the Bonita Springs Rotary Noon Club and served on the FGCU Foundation Board for the past 10 years. At FGCU, Brad started the World War II symposium, "Courage in the First Person" which brought veterans together to talk about their experiences. He played an instrumental role in the growth of the YMCA of the Palms in SW Florida and played an important role in the opening of the Bonita Springs YMCA. He was a dedicated volunteer to the YMCA serving several times as the Chairman of the Board and always acting as a proud advocate and ambassador for the YMCA in the community. He was honored as the Bonita Springs YMCA Volunteer of the Year in 2005 and YMCA of the Palms Volunteer of the Year in 2008. He was a graduate of Leadership of Collier County and Leadership Bonita. Brad had a passion for country music especially Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson. He was an avid fisherman, whether salt water fishing or fly fishing the streams of North Carolina. He was also a distance runner, having completed marathon and half-marathon events.
He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Karen S. Clark; his two daughters, Rachel and Rebecca; and his father, Robert K. Clark all of Estero, FL.
