Most Excellent Christian Lady dies after a short illness Leaves number of Children'
Another splendid Christian lady has answered the call of her Master and is now enjoying the rest promised all who serve the Lord. Mrs J E Ainsworth the loving wife of our fellow townsman Mr J E Ainsworth died at her home on the corner of Screven and Duke Streets on Thursday last at one o'clock PM after a short illness. Only a few days previous to her death she was taken with influenza which soon developed into pneumonia causing her death. This good lady was about 45 years of age and was a loving and devoted mother to a large family of children among whom is Paul now in France Ralph Mrs Bellamy, Roy, Leslie, Earle, Lucy, and Maud.
The funeral services were conducted on Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock by Rev L L Bedenbaugh pastor of Duncan Methodist Church and the remains laid to rest in Elmwood Cemetery in the presence of a large congregation of sympathizing friends. The deceased lady was a member of the West End Methodist Church but owing to the illness of the Paston Rev R R Tucker he was prevented from officiating at the funeral. The following friends acted as pall bearers Messrs John Boyt Henry C Smith Saml G Smith Dan D Smith TS McConnell and Joseph J McKeithen.
