Walter is the only son of William and Charlotte (nee Fenn) along with 7 daughters. His sister Emma is my Great Grandmother.
Walter married Ethel May Kettle on the 13 Aug 1915 at the Tendring Registry Office. Walter went off to join the war, dying in Egypt from Uraemia - Kidney Disease. Ethel was left a widow. In William's war documents, a son born out of wedlock to Ethel - Frederick Charles Kettle. William took father-ship of the son. However Frederick continued to be known as the surname of Kettle. Ethel never remarried and passed away in 1966.
His cousins who were brothers, served in the Great War resulting in their deaths: Nelson and Walter Ridgeon They are all also included in the Clacton War Memorial.
