David was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.

He was born in Cumberland, Maryland to Eula R.(Spriggs) and David S. Styers. As soon as he could he joined the Armed Forces. He was a veteran of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was the recipient of many medals, among them the Purple Heart, the Bronze star and many others who just show what an amazing and dedicated man he was to his Country.

He was raised in the Presbyterian faith, but did not attend a specific church in his adult years. He was a devoted Christian. He did not adhere to any specific denomination, he just loved the Lord and had a strong faith.

He lived in Italy for many years but returned to the United States in 1992, moving to Homestead, Florida.
He lost everything in hurricane Andrew. Material things did not matter to him, his family did. With his family he then moved for one last time to the Tampa Bay area. He continued working until he got sick.

In the fall of 1994 he was diagnosed with cancer. He died the following year, on December 5th 1995. He died at his home surrounded by his wife and me, his granddaughter.
He was a wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He raised me as if I was his daughter and for that I will forever be grateful. He was also a wonderful great-grandfather.

He was a sweet, quiet man who also liked to play jokes. He was a big animal lover especially dogs. He enjoyed watching any sport but his favorite was baseball. He was never in a bad mood and it was so until the day he died. He lived with dignity until he left this world for the next.

Age: 71 years, 6 months, and 8 days.
