Vittorio Fracarossi is my maternal great-grandfather.
He was born and died in the city of Trieste, Italy. Married to Giorgina "Giorgia" Cerne and from that union a daughter was born Dolores.
He had several jobs throughout his life. When he was a young man at age 15, he traveled to the United States aboard the Presidente Wilson (President Wilson) with his brother Rodolfo, who at the time was 17 years old. The year was 1922. He had relatives who lived there, an uncle Joseph, who lived in Brooklyn. They wanted to move to the U.S.A. but being both minors they were sent back home to Italy and never even made it out of Ellis Island.
Sadly, he did not have a long life. He died at the age of 44. He did however meet his only grand-daughter Denise.
His daughter remembers him fondly. He made a jewelry box for her and she still has that. Engraved inside the jewelry box is her nick name Doretta.
