Obituary:
The death of Mrs. Agatha Brossard, of St. Mary, again reminds us that the early settlers of this county are passing from the stage of action. Mrs. Brossard was 81 years of age, born in France, and came to America when young. She came with her husband to Minnesota in 1858, and settled in this county 25 years ago. She died at the residence of her son-in-law, D. T. Ballard, Sept. 6th, 1889, at 9:15 p. m. The funeral took place at the residence of Mr. Ballard, on Sunday afternoon, Rev. E. C. Clemens officiating, and the remains were laid to rest in the Woodville cemetery. Her husband, about 93 years of age, survives her. She raised a family of ten children, five boys and five girls, all of whom survive her except Mrs. O. P. Smith of Alma City, deceased. She was highly respected by a large circle of friends and neighbors who sympathize with the bereaved relatives.Waseca County Herald 9-13-1889 Sharon R. Allen#46907343
