MADISON, WI - Donald O. Newell, age 81, died Wednesday, March 5,2008, in a local care center. He was born Oct. 26, 1926, in Dayton,Ohio, the son of Harold and Sarah (Myers) Neutzenholzer. When Don reachedthe age of 12, the family changed their last name to Newell. He wasa veteran of the United States Army. On Nov. 23, 1950, Don was unitedin marriage with Frances Anne Mogan in Rome, Ind. Prior to his retirement,he had been employed as a professional engineer by Underwriters Laboratories , Inc. for 26 years. Survivors include a daughter, Kate Nolan of Monona;a son, Donald (Catherine) Newell, Jr. of Kentucky; a granddaughter,Judith (Richard) Phillips of Greenfield; five great-grandchildren; anda brother, Dale (Donna) Newell of Washington. He was preceded in deathby his wife, Sarah in 1994; his parents; a granddaughter, Sarah Nolan;and a brother, Alan. There will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers,the family prefers memorials to a charity of your choice.
