Grant Penhollow was the son of Nathan Penhollow and Adeline Button. He married Flora Lois Hausch (daughter of Jacob Fredrich Hausch and Lois Eletharp Curtis) on September 30, 1886. They had six daughters: Myrtle, Nellie, Floy, Vera, Iris F. Violet and one son, Homer Durant. Grant owned the business Penhollow and Hausch Block Company and made the blocks for many of the buildings in Perry including the Perry Park Pavilion on Lake Erie.
