he has no known grave, but his name is recorded on one of the panels on the Helles Memorial at the tip of the Gallipoli peninsula, Turkey.

Joseph Brennan joined the Royal Munster Fusiliers at the start of WW1, and died at Gallipoli on 21st August 1915.
The CWGC website records his age as 44, but this may not be correct.

in the 1901 census, Joseph Brennan stated he was aged 27, a Mill Labourer, living at Crofton Street, Kilrush, with his wife Bridget, aged 27, and their two children Mary aged 3 and Bridget aged 2.

in the 1911 census, Joseph Brennan stated he was aged 44, a Butcher, living at Burton Street, Kilrush, with his wife Bridget Brennan, aged 38. The house was recorded as a 3 roomed dwelling.
They had been married for 14 years, and had 3 children, 2 of whom were alive.

Biddy Brennan, aged 10.
All of the members of the family had been born in Co. Clare.

He is possibly the same Joseph Brennan, b. 6 July 1872, in Kilrush, to Michael Brennan and Bridget Blake.
In the 1901 census, Michael Brennan was recorded as a 55 year old butcher, a widower.
William Brennan, a nephew of Martin, was living with him.
