"Donald D. Knoop Dies At Hospital

"Donald D. Knoop, 55, of 524 S. Transit St., died Friday afternoon (May 29, 1959) at Lockport Memorial Hospital after a lingering illness. He had been ill since October.

"Mr. Knoop was general foreman of the tool room at Harrison Radiator Division, General Motors Corp., where he had worked for 40 years.

"He was a member of G-9 Foremen's Club and the Screwball Club.

"Survivors include his wife, Lillian; a son, * * *; two brothers, Robert and Kenneth, and a grandson.

"Friends may call today from 2 to 4 in the afternoon and 7 to 9 in the evening at the Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, Inc., 242 Genesee St. Services will be held tomorrow morning at 11, with the Rev. Woodrow W. Witmer, associate minister of First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Cold Spring Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society."

"Son of Edward & Grace Greenwood (Bull) Knoop. Edward passed away in 1908 and Grace remarried in 1909 to his brother, Franklin W. "Frank" Knoop, who raised Donald DeForest and Robert Allen [Edward's two sons] as his own. Frank & Grace later had a son of their own, Kenneth Elmer, in 1911."
