ABNEY, FRED S. of Dallas made his transition to the life eternal on October 2, 2004. Preceded in 1995 by Jeanne, his wife of nearly 53 years, he is survived by sons Steve Abney of Houston and Jim Abney of Austin, granddaughter Mary Alison Abney of Dallas, sisters-in-law Ann Abney of Dallas and Helen McClure of Houston. Born in Brownwood, Texas December 2, 1919 to D.F. and Margaret L. Abney, Fred served as a U.S. Army Captatin during WWII. He returned and graduated from the University of Texas Law School and practiced law in Dallas for over 40 years. A member of First Methodist Church, and later the Unity Church, he began his study of A Course in Miracles in 1980, and continued to be an avid student until his death. Services to be held Tuesday, October 5, 9:30 AM at Restland Wildwood Chapel, Rev. John B. Webster officiating. Interment at Restland Memorial Park. Restland 972-238-7111 restlandfuneralhome.com
