Mr. Arrington had lived in that vicinity for the past 47 years. He was a farmer and for the past eighteen years had been employed by the Mercer county board of education as janitor of the Montcalm high school. He was born February 9, 1860 in Franklin County, Virginia. He was first married to Miss Betty Craft, also, of Franklin County, who preceded him in death. Nine children were born of this union. His second wife, the former Miss Alva Mae Thomas survives. Nine children were, also, born of this marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles C. Arrington, Sr. and Sarah E. Jenkins, and two children.
Surviving children include; Jim, of Ridgely: Mrs. Kate Mullin, Freeman; Mrs. Victoria Ball, Limestone, Tenn.; Mrs. Ora Whittaker, Mrs. Lila Shrader, Mrs Mary Bailey, and Mrs. France Fuda, all of Duhring; Mrs. Sally Garrison, Goodwill; John of Arista; Robert, of Beard's Fork; Henry, address unknown; Mrs. Lizzie Richmond and Joe Arrington, Montcalm; Mrs. Ellen Farris, Besoco; Mrs Gracie Meade, Princewick; and H. W. Arrington, Jr, Covel.
Also, surviving are 82 grandchildren, 87 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Rites will be conducted Wednesday at 2 P.M. from the auditorium of the Montcalm High School by the Rev. E. W. Powers, assisted by the Rev. Mr. Ashby. Interment will be made in Woodlawn cemetery.
Pallbearers will be C.O. Farley, Roy A. Cole, Brooks Hardy, B.B. Hurst, E. C. Vaughn, Walter Kingrea, J.J. Shrader and Hurst. Members of the Duhring Church of Christ choir will furnish music.
The body was removed to the Mercer Funeral home at Montcalm.
