Edith Fralin Arrington, 86 of Rocky Mount died Monday, July 5, 2010 at Pheasant Ridge Assisted Living in Roanoke. She was predeceased by her parents Alfred G. Fralin and Edna (Etta) Blanche Beheler; one sister June Gravely; and one brother, Tommy Fralin; husband Kearney W. Arrington; granddaughter, Heather Arrington and grandson Travis Whitlock. She was a longtime member of the Rocky Mount Christian Church. Edith graduated from Ferrum Junior College and served a long tenure with the Davis Law Firm and also kept the books for Arrington Paving Company. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, known far and wide for her culinary skills which she so willingly shared with family and friends. Surviving are her children: Pat Arrington (Karen); Wanda Richardson (John); Julia Whitlock; Tim Arrington (Penny); Kevin Arrington; Grandchildren: Kim Boitnott, Ryan Arrington (Donnelle), Karly Arrington, Tony Richardson (Sharon), Jessica Vazquez (Frankie), Crystal Summer (Geoff), Levi Arrington, Colby Arrington, Maria Arrington, Kyle Arrington and Zoee Arrington. Great-Grandchildren: Heather and Beth Boitnott; Keegan Harold and Chase Arrington; Kira and Rusty Spicer; Gretchen and Katie Richardson; Victoria, Alex and Adrian Vazquez. Also surviving are two sisters Ruth Cole (Aaron) and Mary Jo Brown; one brother A. G. Fralin (Chris); brother-in-law J. Clark Arrington (Jerene); two sisters-in-law Jean Arrington and Mary B. Arrington; a devoted companion and special friend Vanessa Gravely; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel 10 a.m. Thursday, July 8, 2010 with Pastor Rick Poland officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park.
