Nita Oliver Brown, 73, of Crocker, MO., formerly of Sallisaw, OK died Monday, Nov. 18, 1985 at a Rolla, MO hospital.
Services were held at the Crocker Presbyterian Church Wednesday, Nov. 20.
Mrs. Brown graduated from Sallisaw High School in 1930. Her parents were P.A. Oliver and Bessie Yandell Oliver. When her mother died at an early age, Nita and her brother Charles went to live with their mother's sister, Katherine Tinney. She and her husband Ott raised them as their own children. Nita's older brother, Leon remained with their father and the youngest boy, Eldred, was raised by Bessie's other sister, Mae Tinney and her husband, Alfred.
Nita married Claude T. Brown on April 9, 1946.
Her parents, her husband and two brothers, Leon and Charles Oliver, preceded her in death.
Survivors include one sister, Wilma Poindexter of Sallisaw, and one brother, Eldred Oliver of Pritchett, Colorado.
