Funeral Services for Charles A Edwards, 72, of 540 Groveland avenue, will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in LeRoy Schmidt Memorial Chapel. Rev Walter Teesdale of the First United Methodist Church of Peoria will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeview cemetery Pekin.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 tonight at the memorial chapel. Masonic rites will be there at 8.
Mr. Edwards died at 9:45 p.m. Monday in his home.
The son of Sam and Fannie Lowe Edwards, he was born July 18, 1902 at Peabody Kan. He married Mildred L Snell Sept. 30, 1926, at Junction City, Kan. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Charlie E, of California, one daughter, Mrs. Charlotte Zuckworth of Peoria; two half brothers, Gene Johns of Canton, and Boyd Johns of Fairview, two half sisters, Miss Fannie and Miss Mary Johns, both of Cuba, and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, one brother, two half brothers and one half sister.
Mr. Edwards was employed by Keystone Steel and Wire Co for 36 years before retiring in 1967. He was a member of Keystone Square and Compass Club; Temple Lodge 46; AF&AM; Peoria Consistory; Scottish Rite; and Mohammed Temple Shrine.
He has been a resident of the Groveland address since 1936.
