Laura Elizabeth (Anderson) Gerhart, 97, widow of John David Gerhart, of Montgomery County Geriatric Center, Royersford, and formerly of Chestnut Street, Pottstown, died Saturday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
Born in Pottstown, she was a daughter of the late Elizabeth E (Hofferd) and John Harry Anderson Jr. She was employed as a seamstress and dressmaker by various companies in Pottstown and Reading.
Mrs. Gerhart was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Pottstown, where she was a member of the Christian Fellowship. She was also a member of the Pottstown Senior Center; the Pottstown Women's Club; and a charter member of St. Aloysius Seniors.
She is survived by a daughter, Geraldine, wife of Melvin Adams, New Bernville; 21 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia O'Connell.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Houck Funeral Home, Charlotte at Grace streets, Pottstown.
Burial will be in Pottstown Cemetery, West.
A viewing will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
