"Alphus C Gerhart, 54, husband of Maude (Kantner) Gerhart, 337 King Street, died last night.
Born in Pottstown, he lived here all of his life. He was the son of John and the late Carrie (Bower) Gerhart. He was a member of the Pike Township Sportsmen's Club, the Empire Hook and Ladder Fire Company, Liberty Fire Company, Spring City, and St Paul's Reformed church.
He had been self employed as a paper hanger.
Besides his wife and father, he leaves one son, John A. Cedarville RD 2; two daughters, Mildred, wife of Robert Herrlinger, 961 South Hills boulevard, and Catherine, wife of Clayton Shaner Jr., 632 New street, Spring City; five brothers, Harvey, 337 Jefferson street, John 333 Jefferson Street, Gerald 361 Laurel street, Charles, Lorane, Berks county, and Arthur Iowa, and one sister, Irene wife of Earl Steltz, Gilbertsville.
Funeral services will be from a funeral home at 112 North Washington street a 2 p.m. Friday with interment in Highland Memorial park. The Rev C.W.Ebbert, pastor of the St. Paul's Reformed church, will officiate."
