Charles Gerhart, 71, husband of Alice E. (Levan) Gerhart, 140 Douglass Drive, Douglassvile, died Saturday evening in Manatawny Manor. [East Coventry, Chester County]
Born in Pottstown, he was a son of the late John and Carrie (Bauer) Gerhart.
Mr. Gerhart was a paper cutter 30 years in the printing department of the former Pottstown Paper Box Co. He also worked at Bechtel's Sport Shop in downtown Pottstown and at a candy concession at Zern's Farmers Market, Gilbertsville. He retired in 1961.
Mr Gerhart was a member of the Mountain View Chapel, Douglassville; the Pocono Beagle Club, Leesport, and the Young At Heart Bowling League of 422 Bowling Lanes.
Surviving with his widow are several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday from Houck Funeral Home, Charlotte and Grace streets, Pottstown.
The Rev. James Bates, former pastor of Mountain View Chapel, will officiate.
Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park.
