"Gerald E Gerhart, 55, husband of Kathryn R (Mallsberger) Gerhart, Sunnyside avenue, Sanatoga, died in Memorial hospital at 1:22 a.m. Tuesday. He was a patient at the hospital for 12 days.
Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late John H and Carrie (Bauer) Gerhart.
Until his illness, he was a tool gauge and die inspector at Dana corporation. He was employed there for the past 35 years.
Gerhart was a member of Augustus Lutheran church, Trappe. He also belonged to Dana corporation's Quarter Century club, Lower Pottsgrove Optimists club, Sanatoga Fire company, and was a former credit union officer.
He is survived by his wife, a daughter at home, Sara Anne; a sister, Irene, wife of Earl H Steltz, 437 Laurel street; two brothers, Charles, Douglassville RD, and Arthur, Royersford R.D.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. from the Shumacher and Reber Funeral home, 359 King street. The Rev. John A. McConomy, pastor of Augustus Lutheran church, will officiate.
Interment will be in Mt. Zion cemetery."
