He married Mary Spitler December 10, 1865, and fathered Adam (b. 02/05/70), Samuel F. (b. 08/15/74), and John Henry (b. 10/03/81). Cause of his death is listed as "a long standing case of mitral insufficiency terminating in heart block & death." All of his obituaries spell his surname "Alleman." So, too, did his death certificate until someone overwrote the "e" with an "a."
