Chief Allan G. Putt
age 72, of Navarre died Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Affinity Medical Center. Born March 2, 1940 in Navarre he was the son of the late Clarence and Mildred (Eckroate) Putt.
Allan was a US Army veteran and was an Ohio Bell inspector with 27 years service retiring in 1993. Allan's true calling was devoting 52 years as a volunteer with Navarre and Bethlehem Twp. Fire Departments where he served the community with a passion. His brother, Robert L. Putt also preceded him in death.
Chief Allan Putt leaves behind his wife of 45 years, Mary Beth (Gee) Putt; his four children, Amy (Mike) Marich, Renee (Scott) Bergman, Eric (Tricia) Putt, and Jamey (Brittani) Putt; his 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sister-in-law, Mabel Putt.
Visitation will be Friday, June 22 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Fairless Middle School located at 11836 Navarre Rd. SW, 44662. A Fire Fighter's Memorial Service will follow at 8 p.m. at the middle school. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 23 at the middle school where Rev. Ronald Bryant will officiate. Burial will be in East Union Lawn Cemetery. His family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are sent to the Stark County Firefighters Association, 123 Cayuga Street NW, Canton, OH 44708.
