Jannon Marie Barker brought love, laughter and a great passion for life for 27 years. She was born July 17, 1979 in Grand Rapids, Michigan and lived most of her life in Atlanta. She was a graduate of Pope High School in Marietta, where she participated in cheerleading and the school newspaper. She graduated with honors from Elon College in 2001 and also graduated with honors with a Master's of Education from Mercer University in 2005. She was a beloved teacher of 1st and 2nd graders at Summit Hill Elementary. She had been voted "Teacher of the Year" for 2006-2007.
She will always be loved and missed by family and friends: her fiance Matt Roper and their cherished dog Sophie; her mother Gloria Barker and Russell Carlisle; her father John Barker and Deborah Barker; her brother John and sister Alexis; her grandmother Mary Jane Bullock; aunts and uncles Patti and Pat Barker, Cheryl and Dick Thomas, Debbie Strasser, Marilyn Fitch, Chuck and Vickie Gall, and Leonard Gall; her cousins, Greg, Brian and Matt Sax, Shane, Britney and Courtney Barker, Erica Daniel, Annie Augustine, John and Jeff Strasser, Leonard, Jr. and Michael Gall, Krista and Chuck Gall.
