Sarah C. Dorsey was born in Schuyler County, Illinois, August 14, 1840 and passed away July 19, 1932, in Hill City at the age of 91 years, 11 months and five days. She was united in marriage to Henry Cassel, July 4, 1865, and to this union, six children were born: four boys and two girls. She was brought up in the Methodist church, but after coming to Kansas with her husband, in April, 1881, she united with the Presbyterian church and remained in that faith until her death. She had been a member of the Eastern Star for 30 years years. She was preceded in death by three of her children and her husband, who died June 12, 1895. She is survived by her sister, Lavena Callison of Spokane, Washington, three children, Nellie E. Morrow, Minnie A. Burns, of Los Angeles, Frederick H. Cassel, of Hill City; fourteen grandchildren and twenty-nine great grandchildren.
