DEATH OF A SOLDIER - Peter Croco,
of Co. D, 9th Ind. Reg., died on the 29th
ult., of something like flax. He was sick
only a few days. The deceased was a
brave soldier and a good citizen. He had
been in the service nearly three and a half
years.
When the headstones were removed from Argos Cemetery his inscription was recorded as:
Peter Croco
Co B 9th Ind. Inf.
d. Jan 29, 1865 at Huntsville, Alabama
ae 35y-10m-4d
(Note: He is listed with Co. D in the military rosters.)
Sophia, his wife, is also listed as being intered in the Argos Town Cemetery.
