Melvin Hatch "Almost Made It" Melvin Hatch, age 99 and 87 days, passed away March 15, 2010 peacefully at his home in Bountiful.
Born December 19th, 1910 in Syracuse, Utah to Samuel and Annie S. Hatch, the fifth of seven children. Married Mary K. Reeves, May 17, 1930 in Salt Lake City, Utah who he loved and stayed faithful to the rest of his life. Mary passed away November 18, 1956.
Melvin worked hard all his life, as a youth to help support the family then as a master candy maker for Glade Candy Co. for 43 years.
Melvin had a passion for beautiful flowers and an immaculate yard which he won many awards for.
He leaves behind two sons, LaMar Hatch of Bountiful and DelRay (Patsy) Hatch, Oakley; six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Melvin was preceded in death by Mary, his wife; son, Milo and daughter, Carman Widdison.
The family would like to thank Inspiration Hospice for their love and dedication.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 18, 2010 at the Bountiful City Cemetery. A visitation will be held prior to service from 12:00 - 1:30 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main.
