Edith Reames died peacefully in her sleep September 24, 2002. Her life of nearly 101 years ecncommpassed 32 years of marriage, 48 years of widdowhood, 2 sons, 6 grandchildren and 6 great granchildren. She was a painter, writer, wife, mother, world traveler and always a student. From years of study with the Arcane School of New York, she was a recognized authority on the writings of Alice Bailey. She spent over a year at the Sri Aurobindo Ashrum in India, and at the age of 77 she returned to college to study Greek in order to read Genesis in it's early language. Students and seekers from around the world consulted her. Her library contains over 4000 books on subjects from astrology to Metaphysics, Philosophy, Psychology, cooking, gardening and computers. While her body was confined to a bed for the last 18 months, her mind was occupied with reading and visiting with her friends. Her ashes will be interred with her late husband, Major Virgil E. Reames at Golden Gate National Cemetery on Oct. 29, at 12:30 PM. Lutheran Pastor Jon Coyne will conduct a brief service to which all of her friends and admirers are invited.
