Carolyn Hemphill Harvey, age 73 of Bedias, Texas, passed away, on Sunday, November 24, 2013 in Bryan, Texas. She was born on April 26, 1940 in Houston, Texas to James Andrew & Dorothy (Throop) Hemphill. Carolyn had been a resident of Bedias since 1993. Growing up, her father was a colonel in the US Army, so Carolyn and her family lived in several places. Carolyn had a giving heart and helped with many causes and people. She worked as a truck driver and could take care of herself but when she was at home, she was a very loving wife, mother and friend. She was a Christian. Carolyn was preceded in death by her father and is survived by her mother, Dorothy Murphree of Waverly, Iowa; husband, George Harvey of Bedias, Texas; son, Jerry Reagan Hemphill of Aurora, Colorado; daughters, Mary Kathryn Branham of New Castle, Colorado; Leslie Rebecca Courtney of Bedias, Texas; step children, Kevin Dale Harvey of Kansas City, Missouri, Tina Marie Wood of Tucson, Arizona, Marlissa Jo Harvey of Kansas City, Missouri, Kenneth Paul Harvey of Tucson, Arizona; sisters, Susan Hanright of Nashua Iowa, Barbara Ransom of Nashua, Iowa; 16 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. A Memorial service will be held at 3 pm, Saturday, November 30, at the Shiloh Baptist Church on FM 1696 West of Bedias, Texas.
