Former Atlantic Homes and barbecue restaurant employee Betty Ann Hoofman, 58, of Henry died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at the Henry County Medical Center emergency room. The cause of death has not been given. A memorial service is scheduled at 2 p.m. Sunday at McEvoy Funeral Home.

The Rev. Tom Smith from Palestine United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be later in Palestine Cemetery

Visitation will be one hour before the service Sunday.

Born in Chicago on June 15, 1954, she was a daughter of Thomas Gerald Evans and Mary Sue Priddy Cook, now both deceased.

Hoofman was a member of Henry United Methodist Church. She worked for Redmon's Barbecue for 16 years and at Hoofman's Barbecue for two years.

She was a licensed cosmetologist and was last employed at Atlantic Homes in Henry, before becoming disabled. A family member said she loved animals, gardening, arts and crafts and was a member of the CKC and AKC Kennel clubs.

She leaves two daughters: Sherry Ann (Dennie) Mitchell of Dresden and Jamie Sue (Luke) Richardson of Buchanan; a special aunt: Ann Pack of Henry; seven grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She also was preceded in death by a brother: Thomas Evans.
