Michael L. Jewell, 53, of Paris died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, at Henry County Healthcare Center. The cause of death was not given.

His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at McEvoy Funeral Home.

Roger Smith, pastor at Paris Church of God of Prophecy, will officiate. Burial will follow in Bethesda Cemetery.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday and two hours before the service Saturday.

Born Dec. 23, 1960, in Blytheville, Ark., he was a son of Buddy and Ruby Jewell of Paris.

A family member said Jewell was an avid hunter and fisherman and believed in the Word of God. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and especially loved Harley Davidsons.

He also leaves one son: Billy Michael (Dana) Jewell of Paris; one sister: Pam (Mark) Walters of Camden; one brother: Barry (Pam) Jewell of Paris; three grandchildren: Brianna Belew and Brooke and Colby Jewell; and several nieces and nephews.
