Joseph W. Chamberlin, 57, of 177 Third St. died Thursday in his home after a long illness.

He leaves his wife, Ann M. (Flaherty) Chamberlin; two sons, Thomas M. and Christopher Chamberlin; two daughters, Diane M. and Ann Chamberlin, all of Stoughton; three brothers, John M. Chamberlin of Quincy, Paul G. Chamberlin of Shrewsbury and Ronald T. Chamberlin of Taunton; a sister, Ann E. Levesque of Irvine, Calif.; a grandson; nephews and nieces. Mr. and Mrs. Chamberlin were married April 11, 1959. He was born in Boston, son of Joseph W. and Ann (Nee) Chamberlin, and lived here 31 years.

Mr. Chamberlin was a trouble-shooting maintenance worker for Boston Edison Co., where he worked for 38 years.

He graduated from Boston Trade School and Newbury Junior College, both in Boston.

Mr. Chamberlin was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church and Local 369, Utility Workers Union of America.

He was a Korean War Army veteran.

The funeral will be held tomorrow from Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Route 27) with a Mass at 9 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Park Street. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beth Israel Hospital, Hematology-Oncology Unit, Attn: Lowell Schripper, 330 Brookline Ave., Boston, 02115.
