Joseph H. Geden, 90, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at home on July 5th 2013. He was the husband of 52 years of the late Dorothy F. "Dottie" (McLaughlin) Geden. Born in Boston, he was raised in Dorchester and educated in Boston schools. He attended Boston University before serving the U.S. Navy. Mr. Geden was a Quarter Master First Class in the U.S. Navy and was a Veteran of both World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a resident of Stoughton since 1967 after living in Newton for 17 years. Mr. Geden was a sales engineer for American Optical in Southbridge for 45 years before retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Old Colony Civil War Round Table and enjoyed studying naval history. He was a Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Stoughton for many years. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling.

Mr. Geden is survived by his sons, Peter J. Geden of Middleboro, Carl H. Geden and his wife Kathleen of N. Attleboro, Gregory A. Geden and Paul E. Geden both of Manchester, NH. He was the brother of Louise McBrine of Braintree, Ruth Malloy of Ohio and the late Doris McGonigle-Sapia, William and Arthur Geden. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 2 great-grandsons, many nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Wednesday, July 10 at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Tuesday from 4-8 PM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
